Devynne is a dedicated, detail-oriented, passionate coach! She was there on Day One, when I joined CrossFit Taylors. For my first CrossFit Open, she was there, as my judge, but also as my coach, cheering me on. Devynne has been there for so many of my firsts! I knew I could always count on her, to support me but also to push me, when I needed it.
I have had the pleasure of working with Devynne both in the gym as an athlete and outside the gym as a patient. In the gym setting, Devynne provided guidance that I continue to hold onto and hear in my head to this day. She encouraged me to try so many new things and learn skills that I otherwise would likely have been intimidated by. As a patient, Devynne made me feel nothing but comfortable to hold space with her. She was very patient with me and always made me feel welcome to share as little or as much as I liked without judgement.
I have had the opportunity to be Coached by Coach Devynne. At the time I was a 45-year-old very out of shape women. I was given a CrossFit membership as a gift from family members. I was thinking what in the world did I get myself into. I was not comfortable in my skin as I was extremely heavy and was scared to death. From day 1 Coach Devynne put all my fears to ease.
I can’t say enough great things about coach Devynne. I had the opportunity to be coached by Devynne when I first started CrossFit and she truly helped transform my fitness journey. Devynne genuinely cares for her athletes. She takes time to understand individual goals and tailors workouts that challenge you while ensuring safety and proper forms. I appreciate Devynne’s adaptability as a coach. She customizes her coaching to meet your needs and help you progress.
In the first few weeks at CrossFit I was quite nervous. At 48 years old every movement was new. Devynne helped me to build confidence and regularly overcome the mental challenge. She taught me to do pull-ups, box jumps and hand stand push ups - things I didn’t think I was capable of. Three years later I’m a different person and loving CrossFit.
Devynne is a fantastic coach and mentor. I was nervous to begin CrossFit again after taking several years off but she was knowledgeable and encouraging which made everything easier. She does great with keeping you motivated and pushing you towards your goals but will also keep you grounded by showing you your weak points and helping you improve them. If you get a chance to work with her, please don’t pass it up.
I highly recommend Devynne Berry for coaching. She was a big part of my entry and growth in CrossFit. I'm a 60+ female and thought there was no place for me in CrossFit, but my daughter convinced me to try it. "They can scale any WOD to work for you." She was right! But good coaching is also key, and Devynne was patient and encouraging, and now I'm 4+ years into CrossFit for functional fitness. It works for me - it can work for you too!
Devynne truly believes in you even when you may not believe in yourself! She has an energy that, when paired with her extensive knowledge, palpable passion, and innate skill set, is unmatched for helping you achieve your goals (be it in the gym or personal). Devynne is one of my favorite coaches, she’s always very patient, and explains all the movements of the workout in great detail. She truly has a love for fitness, and helping others.
Coach Devynne’s energy and enthusiasm are infectious. You can always find her cheering athletes on while they are working out. Devynne is always available to answer questions and provide advice beyond the gym. Devynne went above and beyond in helping me back into my journey with CrossFit. She was always there, be it a helping, gentle hand or a drill sergeant push. I would have never gotten to where I was if it wasn’t for her coaching. She is always positive, encouraging in her coaching, always pushing people to places they never thought they could get to. She is one of those coaches that no matter where you go, you will never forget her.
As a powerlifter I started training with Devynne looking to improve my strength and endurance. Devynne pushed me, not past my physical limits, but the limits I thought I had. I learned new techniques and was able to do some Olympic lifting I never thought I could do. She broke down each movement so that it was easy to understand and accomplish. My endurance improved as well as my strength.
We love Devynne! She is extremely knowledgeable about exercise and movement. Excellent CrossFit coach! At 63 years old, I have become more confident in pushing my limits as I improved my technique from Devynne's tips. I have steadily built muscle and stamina. She always makes sure my form is correct! She pushes gym members to push themselves and is also our greatest fan as she cheers on our successes. Highly recommend Devynne as a coach!
Devynne explains movements in a way that I could easily understand and adapted her teaching to meet my learning style. Devynne is very in-tune to what will best help you learn and feel confident with skills!
Devynne always made me feel comfortable in being uncomfortable, Devynne would say to me just put in the work, one rep at a time. She reminded me age and weight are just numbers and that I am my biggest obstacle. Coach Devynne was always there to encourage me and not to give up so easily on myself. I did my very first CrossFit open under her coaching and what a fun experience that was. She was there with us, coaching us to keep going.
What I valued the most is as someone who was not in the best shape and a lot older than some in the class, Devynne treated me no differently and helped me feel better about myself. I truly miss her as a coach. Devynne is truly not only an AWESOME Coach but a Beautiful human being. I thank her from the bottom of my heart. She inspired me to say “YES I CAN” when I thought I could not.
During our time training, I discovered Devynne was also a Doctor of Chinese Medicine. This was something that intrigued me since I have a lot of scar tissue and pain due to a cancer history and surgeries. Through some conversations, Dr. Devynne developed a treatment plan that helped me through a lot of what I was going through. She is very thoughtful in her approach to both fitness and wellness. I highly recommend her and the team!
