: What Makes Us Different? | The Middle Path Approach
There are plenty of gyms offering instructor-led classes with HIIT training and functional movement programs—so what makes Middle Path CrossFit stand out?
The answer is simple: We are not fitness class facilitators. This isn’t a “monkey see, monkey do” workout where you watch, copy, and hope for the best. Yes, we demonstrate each movement, show proper mechanics, and break down key points—but we don’t stop there.
How We're Different from Other Group Fitness
✅ Coaching, Not Just Cheerleading – Many group fitness programs focus on keeping you moving for an hour. While motivation is important, our role as coaches goes far beyond cheering you on—it’s about coaching you through every step of the process.
🛑 Before the workout starts, we work through movements in a low-pressure setting to ensure you understand proper technique and movement patterns.
🏃 Once the workout begins, we don’t just stand back and cheer. We continue to coach in real-time, offering corrections and guidance as you move faster and add intensity.
💡 Our role isn’t just to hype you up—it’s to make sure every rep counts.
✅ Intentional Movement Over Just Breaking a Sweat – This isn’t an hour-long sweat session for the sake of burning calories. We train you for progress, longevity, and strength. Every class is designed with structured programming that builds over time, helping you develop skills, improve technique, and get stronger in a sustainable way.
✅ Personalized Scaling & Adjustments – While most group fitness classes offer modifications, we go further. Our coaching approach ensures that every athlete, regardless of experience level, is set up for success before the workout even begins. You won’t just be told, “If you can’t do X, do Y instead.” We will take the time to help you understand why and make sure you’re on the right path.
How We're Different from Other CrossFit Gyms
✅ Deep Coaching & Class Structure – Many CrossFit gyms offer scaling options, but we go beyond simply verbalizing modifications. We actively check in with each athlete in every class to ensure their plan fits their current fitness level, goals, and even how they’re feeling that day.
But this check-in isn’t just a quick, “Do you feel like you have a good game plan?” Instead, it’s an intentional conversation—
✔ “Show me your game plan.”
✔ “What were you thinking about for X, Y, and Z?”
✔ “What are your goals for this workout?”
This approach ensures we are all on the same page—that the athlete’s goals align with the intended stimulus of the workout, that we’re approaching things smartly, and that no one is unintentionally overloading themselves.
It also allows us to recognize when someone needs a ‘just move your body day.’ Not every workout has to be an all-out sprint. Some days, the goal is simply to show up and move. And that’s okay, too.
✅ Personalized Whiteboards – Many of our athletes walk into class to find their own custom whiteboard, prepped for them based on their progress and goals. But this isn’t a rigid plan—it’s a starting point for a conversation.
That whiteboard represents:
- A prepared coach who has considered your path, progress, and goals.
- A collaborative approach—we talk through it together, adjusting up or down based on how you feel that day, both physically and mentally.
✅ Thoughtful Progression & Attention to Detail – We guarantee you won’t get the same level of individualized breakdown and attention at most other CrossFit gyms. We take the time to assess movement patterns, refine technique, and ensure long-term progress—not just short-term performance.
